A microbial desalination cell (MDC) built on a modified surface has been studied for seawater desalination. The goal of this study is to provide and develop system that does not require energy support by applying modification the anode as an electron acceptor. different potential charges occur between cathode can serve driving force electrodialysis seawater, resulting in its Yeast applied biocatalyst neutral red chosen redox mediator facilitate transport originating from bioactivity cells. Several types have conducted, i.e., biocatalyst-mediator immobilisation electropolymerisation at surface. optimisation each device characterised cyclic voltammetry chronoamperometry. It also observed fuel (MFC), prior being functioned MDC. concentrations salt ion migration determined exchange chromatography. This found best configuration was obtained carbon felt coated polyneutral film (CF/PNR); generated maximum value all tested parameters: 42.2% current efficiency; 27.11% bio-devices 92.5 mA m-2 density; 61% NaCl transport. Moreover, could be promising method improving performance.
